Scott has a Master’s Degree in Taxation and nearly 25 years of experience as a CPA. Scott specializes in providing tax planning, consulting and compliance services to closely held businesses and successful individuals in a broad range of industries. Scott’s background and personal interests drew him to the real estate development and property management industries – where he developed a particular expertise. A significant portion of his current practice entails serving real estate developers, investors, and related businesses.

 

Scott and his wife Kelly live in Normandy Park with their two teenage children. He enjoys boating, fishing, and other outdoor recreation activities with friends and family. A native of Eastern Washington, Scott has resided in the Seattle area for over 30 years. He is active in local nonprofit organizations, recently serving as Treasurer for Highline Medical Center Foundation.

Jim has over 40 years of experience as a practicing CPA – most of those years in the Seattle area. He has four married children and 12 grandchildren.  A priority for Jim is contributing to his community. He makes time to sit on at least one non-profit board in the West Seattle area.

David has a decade of experience as a tax professional and finds it rewarding to work with his clients to solve their tax issues. He's managed teams in both tax compliance and resolution as well as designed tax software for CPA firms across the country. His understanding of tax law, communication skills, and technological expertise make him a valuable asset for business owners and high net worth individuals navigating the often complex world of taxation.

 

In his free time, David enjoys traveling, craft breweries, and hiking with his wife Arielle, daughter Naomi, and dog Kirk. He is a proud Michigan State alum and diehard fan of his alma mater’s football and basketball teams.​

Ben has a Master's Degree in Taxation and over 10 years of experience as a CPA. Ben specializes in providing proactive tax planning and consulting services to individuals and closely-held businesses across a wide range of industries. He has developed an expertise in the construction industry, where he is actively involved in professional organizations and has given multiple presentations on Tax Reform to industry leaders.

Ben and his wife Alissa live in West Seattle with their three children. Ben was raised in West Seattle, is an active member of the local community, and is proud to call this community his home. He enjoys both snow and water skiing, attending concerts and sporting events, and coaching his kids' basketball teams at the YMCA.

Denise has four decades of experience as a tax professional and has spent the last 24 years running her own CPA firm in Seattle. Denise began her career in Chicago with a Big Four accounting firm servicing clients in the entertainment industry, banking, and retail.  From there she moved to Seattle and into Technology as her area of expertise.  As President of Olivier Associates, Inc., she worked both as a tax practitioner and a contract CFO for a variety of industries in the Seattle area.

 

In her free time, Denise enjoys both the east and west sides of Washington state;  snow and water skiing, boating, hiking, traveling with her husband, and animals of any kind.  ​

Roen Ako, CPA

Roen joined Hunt Jackson with over 10 years of public accounting experience. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree, she laid her career foundation with three years of financial statement audit experience with a mid-tier firm before making her move to taxation. She has worked at small local public accounting firms in the Greater Seattle area with a healthy mix of tax compliance and tax planning mostly for small business owners within various industries and high net worth individuals.

 

Before moving to Seattle for college, Roen was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawai’i. Currently, she lives in West Seattle with her wife, daughter, Bernese Mountain dog (Kai) and Golden Retriever (Koa). In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, playing golf, attending winery and brewery events, and is an avid home brewer.​

Robert Silva, CPA

Bob has a diverse working history as an accountant for more than 35 years. He has worked for small accounting firms that emphasize tax return preparation, as well as CPA firms that prepare tax returns and perform regulatory audits. For a number of years, Bob worked in the tax software industry as a tax analyst, senior developer, and later, as head of the firm's quality assurance team for tax software. He has also served as a consultant to a very large software company's tax preparation software project.

Bob volunteered for 25 years as a docent at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. His many and varied interests, when not working on taxation issues, include his interest in aviation history, other specialty areas of history (Ancient, Medieval, and American), the plays of William Shakespeare, and music.

Thomas has a Masters degree focused in Auditing and Assurance, and has joined Hunt Jackson with over seven years of experience.  After obtaining his Masters degree, he began his career learning all sides of public accounting and after a few years turned his focus solely on tax.  He specializes in tax compliance and tax planning for small business owners and their families within a variety of industries.

Born and raised in Washington, Thomas currently lives with his wife and plans to move to the Everett area to start a family.  He spends most of his free time with his wife, exploring the world and having quiet nights at home.  He has a passion for playing board games, and almost never turns down an opportunity to play.

Tenae has over a decade of accounting experience, focusing on start-ups and small businesses in the personal services and real estate industries.  Tenae completed her CPA licensure at the end of 2021, and holds a Bachelors Degree in Finance and a Certificate of Accountancy from the University of Washington, as well as an Associates Degree in Accounting.

Born and raised in the greater Seattle area, Tenae cannot imagine living anywhere else.  In her free time, she likes to watercolor and avidly participate in the Seattle partner dancing scene.  She can be found dancing blues, west coast swing, tango, and a variety of other genres.  Tenae also organizes and DJ's for local national dance events, bringing a piece of the PNW wherever she goes.

Lisa joined Hunt Jackson as a Senior in July 2022 with over 10 years of tax experience.  Prior to joining Hunt Jackson, she worked primarily with high net worth clients and executives on international assignments.

Born in Japan, she moved to Hawai'i when she was 5 years old.  She currently lives in West Seattle with her two cats, Chibi and Meepers.

Manider Bassi

Upon obtaining her Psychology Degree from the University of Washington and subsequently her Accounting degree from Central Washington University, Manider interned at a local public accounting firm before joining as a Associate. She is currently studying for the CPA Exam.

 

Born in San Jose, California, Manider spent much of her youth in the Bay area until relocating with her family to the suburbs of beautiful Seattle.  Leaving sun for the occasional rain cloud was made easier by all the great hiking and biking trails and the community like feel of the Northwest. When not hiking or biking, Manider enjoys reading, trying new cuisines, and spending time with her family and friends.

Linh joined Hunt Jackson in December 2022.  Prior to Hunt Jackson, Linh interned at a local CPA firm with a focus on taxation.  She enrolled at the University of Washington for her Masters in Accounting and is expected to finish in January 2024.  She is also actively studying for the CPA exam.

Born and raised in Vietnam, Linh moved to Seattle to pursue a career in accounting and has been in the United States since high school.  She currently lives in West Seattle with her husband.  In her free time she enjoys going on hikes, exploring new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones.  She is also passionate about volunteering and mentoring the youth at her church.

Kirk comes into the office from time to time to ensure the security of the firm.  He's so good at what he does, he can often be found napping on the job, begging for treats, or running to see what surprises are coming off the printer.  

When he's not in the office, Kirk likes to spend his free time chasing crows, herding bunnies, stalking squirrels, and laying in the sun.
